Love Everyday, Not Just Today

I want to show my love everyday.
Not with words, talk is cheap.
It's how I love you.
It's how I serve Him, and them, that shows just how I love. {Oh, I have so far to grow....}
But, doesn't love make things grow?
If love does not abound don't we atrophy and die, if not physically then mentally?
Everyone wants to be loved.
To feel loved by those they love.

We have a lot to do around here.
Everyday is full and fast.
It is hard not to get caught up in the to-do list.
Harp on the things not done.
Forget love and mercy.
Become self centered, self focused because I want it all to run on my time table.
This time with kids under foot, crayons, messes of dolls...
Laundry, laundry everywhere...
It can get crazy.
But, more than anything I want them to remember that there was love at home.
Not how organized and efficient we may have been (or not)
But that at the end of the day there was hugs and laughs,
kisses and one more "I love you" before all is quiet.

To see a mom and dad still smitten with each other.
"EWWW!! Y'all are gross!" from the kids is a high compliment. It means they see the hugs and little kisses.
But when they get to that point of "I do" I want it to look something like what we have here. Even better {is that possible? I am one happy girl}

Truest Love
Kindness
Mercy with one another
Compassion
Never playing on the weakness of one another,
but lifting up each other whenever we can.
Being gentle as a lamb if there is ever a point of tension.

Tending our home with care, growing it and those little walking examples of our love with all the love we have. It is a great journey.

So thankful to be doing it with the sweetest man I have ever known.

Love at Home by John H. McNaughton

  1. There is beauty all around,
    When there’s love at home;
    There is joy in every sound,
    When there’s love at home;
    Peace and plenty here abide,
    Smiling sweet on every side,
    Time doth softly, sweetly glide,
    When there’s love at home.
    • Refrain 1:
      Love at home, love at home;
      Time doth softly, sweetly glide,
      When there’s love at home.
  2. In the cottage there is joy,
    When there’s love at home;
    Hate and envy ne’er annoy,
    When there’s love at home;
    Roses bloom beneath our feet,
    All the earth’s a garden sweet,
    Making life a bliss complete,
    When there’s love at home.
    • Refrain 2:
      Love at home, love at home;
      Making life a bliss complete,
      When there’s love at home.
  3. Love becomes a way of life,
    When there’s love at home;
    Sweet, insistent end to strife,
    When there’s love at home;
    Glad submission each one’s gift,
    Willing pledge to love and lift,
    Healing balm for every rift,
    When there’s love at home.
    • Refrain 3:
      Love at home, love at home;
      Healing balm for every rift,
      When there’s love at home.
  4. Anger cools and pressures cease,
    When there’s love at home;
    Children learn to live in peace,
    When there’s love at home;
    Courage to reach out in grace,
    Meet a stranger face to face,
    Find a reconciling place,
    When there’s love at home.
    • Refrain 4:
      Love at home, love at home;
      Find a reconciling place,
      When there’s love at home.
  5. There’s no question you can’t ask,
    When there’s love at home;
    There is strength for any task,
    When there’s love at home;
    Sharing joy in work or play,
    Confidence to face the day,
    Knowing love will find a way,
    When there’s love at home.
    • Refrain 5:
      Love at home, love at home;
      Knowing love will find a way,
      When there’s love at home.
  6. Kindly heaven smiles above,
    When there’s love at home;
    All the world is filled with love,
    When there’s love at home;
    Sweeter sings the brooklet by,
    Brighter beams the azure sky;
    Oh, there’s One who smiles on high
    When there’s love at home.
    • Refrain 6:
      Love at home, love at home;
      Oh, there’s One who smiles on high
      When there’s love at home.
